The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said both Rob and Michele had suffered fatal stab wounds. Their son Nick was arrested later that evening in Los Angeles.

Nick Reiner Indicted in Parents’ Deaths
The legal case against Nick Reiner has continued into 2026.
A grand jury returned an indictment on July 20 that was unsealed on August 12. The indictment accuses Nick of two counts of first-degree murder and includes special circumstances involving multiple murders, use of a knife, and an allegation that he was lying in wait.
Nick has pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors have not yet decided whether they will seek the death penalty. A pretrial hearing is scheduled for September 15, 2026.
